About Studio 810

Studio 810 was started by Timothy G. Strosser as a full service design firm, offering design, project management, and custom kitchen design.  Timothy has extensive experience in design and construction of residential projects.  After working 8 years in design & drafting departments for various local companies, he expanded his building knowledge by branching into design positions that included construction estimating and project management.  This is truly an asset to both builders and customers, because developing a set of accurate drawings with enough detail so that the builder can actually “build” what is drawn is extremely important. Many builders complain, “I can’t build this,” or “I don’t know what the designer was thinking,” so they make their own changes and build accordingly. However, the result can be out of balance with the overall design. Studio 810 prevents most of these problems because:

1.      Timothy has helped frame and trim houses, and managed hundreds of remodeling and new home projects, so he has extensive practical experience to prevent and solve problems that frequently arise in building or remodeling a home, because he understands the builder and his problems.

2.     Timothy will ask the builder for his preference on how he wants a construction method drawn so that the builder does not misunderstand the design, and, thus, will build according to that design.

3.    Timothy will discuss any ideas or cost-saving tips suggested by the contractor with the customer, so that the advantages, disadvantages, and preferences of any changes can be fully explored.

Timothy’s practical experience in contracting has saved homeowners from spending unnecessary time and money, and from experiencing undue frustration. He understands intimately how design blends into the overall, broader picture of contracting.  He effectively and efficiently networks with other product and service providers to provide the largest range of products and services at the best prices for any client.

Timothy can solve complex problems, and create beautiful new solutions, a considerable asset when detailing work is involved with renovations ~ including historic restoration, which requires a high level of detail.   

Timothy believes that no design project, no matter how magnificent it appears, is successful if the client’s dream is not realized.  Past clients have commented that after working with several other professionals, they were disappointed because the results were not as they had envisioned.  Many couples express a wish list, but do not clearly identify their main goal. Sometimes spouses have conflicting goals. Timothy will be sure that the goals are clear before proceeding. He understands that listening to the clients’ needs is vital for the success of a positive working relationship.  Clients were more satisfied with Timothy, because his practical skills, and his ability to communicate fully and effectively with both client and builder helped to prevent problems and helped the clients to fully realize their dream.
